At GAS adventure therapy is facilitated by a counsellor or social worker. Individual or group work is enhanced by a natural environment and an opportunity to move and participate.
Adventure Therapy is not a one-size-fits-all, each session is carefully tailored to respond to the participant’s interest and their purpose for being there. Different elements of adventure therapy will be more important at different times, these include connection to the natural world, physical activity and adventure, collaboration and social relationships and the application of clinical modalities.
We love working with other health care providers and agencies to bring the intentional use of outdoor adventure to group interventions. We currently partner with Melbourne Legacy, Adventure Works, The Salvation Army, Barwon Child Youth & Family, Nelson Park School and we take referrals from a wide range of agencies in Geelong & Melbourne. Please get in touch to discuss how we might be able to collaborate with you.
